Dynamo Soccer Club’s mission
Quality people.
Quality players.
A safe place to playRoom for different goalsReasonable participation costs
The mission of Dynamo Soccer Club is to offer a physically and psychologically safe environment for children of all ages to enjoy participation in soccer in recreational soccer, at a reasonable financial cost.
Our club emphasizes working on “Developing quality people, quality players.”
That purpose connects a player’s first practice, a team’s shared progress and the way families support one another on the sideline.
Dynamo Soccer Club’s history
Local roots.
A lasting soccer home.
What began as a cost-effective soccer experience for Mechanicsville and Hanover County grew into more ways for local children to play.
A wider community.
Dynamo expanded its services to include King William County.
Another place to play.
A Recreation league began in Henrico County in the Spring.
320players in the first Spring season
The first recreational program brought players together in U6, U8, U10 and U12 age groups. Those early teams established the foundation for the club’s local soccer community.
More opportunities as players grew.
The club’s historical account describes membership growing to more than three times its initial size, with a Travel Program, Jr Academy Program, U4 Dynamite Division, Girls’ Recreational Divisions and Coed Recreational Programs spanning U5 through U19.
That account also records professional club management through Commonwealth Soccer Programs and partnerships with Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods and D.C. United to support equipment and player experiences.

Beyond the touchline
A stronger community.
On and off the field.
Community participation has always been an important part of Dynamo. The club believes in enriching children’s lives through more than the game itself.
Showing up for local schools.
Dynamo’s history includes sponsoring area elementary schools and participating in Cool Spring Elementary’s Fall Festival and Kersey Creek Elementary’s Fitness Night.
Helping children feel supported.
The club’s Anti-Bullying Program has connected Dynamo with local schools, carrying its commitment to quality people beyond the soccer field.
Making more play possible.
Equipment donations to school P.E. programs and local middle-school soccer programs have helped more children enjoy being active.
Familiar places. Shared memories.
Soccer close to home.
Dynamo’s Recreation Program has used fields throughout Hanover County, including Pole Green Park, Taylor Park and Courthouse Park. The club’s history also records play in eastern Henrico County where a youth soccer program was needed.
